Patricia Jean Pirkle
PJ was born in Richmond, Virginia on January 30 but very soon after was moved with her parents, John and Debbie Pirkle, to Augusta, Georgia. Her parents are both musically talented and involved in the community so PJ grew up being involved with various plays and musicals in school and in church. When she was eleven years old, she realized her own love for theatre and began performing in community theatre when she was 11 years old. The first Experience as a community theatre actress was with the Children's Musical Theatre Workshops with Mrs. Mickey Lubeck. Here she learned and practiced improvisation, which is now one of her favorite forms of performance. Musical Theatre Workshops encouraged PJ to meet new people and not to be afraid of looking silly. To this day she is still involved, wrangling backstage, doing make-up and other backstage and pre-performance tasks, and is a big supporter of the actors, singers, and dancers that are there now. Music and theatre are a family art in the Pirkle house; everyone is involved and works together.
Currently PJ Pirkle studied at Lees-McRae College for two years and will begin studying at Armstrong Atlantic University this summer to finish her Bachelors in Performing Arts Studies. She enjoys learning and enjoyed the beautiful mountain environment of North Carolina and is anxious to experience life on the beach. In college, PJ has found that she enjoys playing the more eccentric characters. She looks forward to the opportunity of directing. She is dedicated and enthusiastic about being more technically trained and broadening her knowledge of all sides of theatre. She hopes to perform and work with many people and companies and continue her life-long learning. Later on, she wants to open her own studio Similar to Children’s Musical Theatre Workshops and teach drama, voice, dance lessons, and to have an acting company of her own where she can actively exercise her creative imagination and direct plays for her community.
